THE MAJORS: SHEILA CHUKWULOZIE
11 AUGUST 2024 - 17 AUGUST 2024
The Igbo people have a saying, “whenever you wake up is your morning.” 11:11 is an installation that supports the vision of the film (The Majors) which is about the moment The Hero wakes up as The Fool, and has to encounter her memories, and her personal myths in order to conquer fear and doubt . Eventually, she arrives at the end of her old self and the beginning of her new one, ultimately beginning a new self from an old essence. This installation is a simplification of the 4 Igbo market days (Afro, nkwo, orie, eke) and the 4 elements of nature (wind, earth, fire and water), and the overarching fifth element called Time.
